Ways to help the animals at the RC Animal Center

You don’t have to be an animal expert to help out at your city’s animal center. You just need to have the time and desire to lend a helping hand.

  1. Helping teach dogs to sit, stay, walk calmly on a leash or shake paws will make them more adoptable.
  2. Take photos and write descriptions of the animals with the staff assistance, and help keep current the online list of available animals.
  3. Create a scrapbook of all the animals.
  4. Satisfy your need for feline contact by spending time socializing adult cats.
  5. Donate items listed on our Wish List.
  6. Make a donation in someone’s name. We provide a certificate announcing that a gift was made on their behalf.
  7. Support Spay-Neuter.
  8. Foster an Animal.
  9. Volunteer

If you are eighteen years of age or older and are interested in becoming part of our Volunteer Program, you will need to attend a mandatory volunteer orientation,  fill out two application forms (one for the City and one for the Animal Center), sign the last page of our volunteer manual and then sign up for one-to-one training sessions.  The next orientation date is:

Saturday, May 10, 2008
10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The Goldy S. Lewis Community Center / Central Park
Room:  Clay Creek
11200 Base Line Road, Rancho Cucamonga

During the orientation we will be discussing operations, volunteer roles, regulations and expectations.
