On July 12th 2007 I stopped by the shelter just to visit the dogs. White Socks was in kennel #65. he is a pit bull mix and was about 14 months old, he had been at the shelter for 4 months. White Socks is a good looking dog with beautiful colors and markings. Since I work just a block away from the shelter I would stop by on my way home everyday to see him, before I knew it hours would pass as we visited and played through the kennel gate. We bonded within a few visits. I mentioned White Socks to Corrine (my wife) and showed her pictures of him, Corrine was not interested in getting another dog, since we already have an older lab mix at home. Still I kept visiting with him after work and kept working on convincing my wife that I wanted this pup in our family. She stopped at the shelter to see the dog that had totally captured my attention. Then one day she met me at the shelter after work to meet White Socks, which went well. the following Saturday we took our lab (Spazz )to the shelter and brought White Socks out on the grassy area for a few hours to see how they would get along. White Socks won my wife over by running over to her ,flopping down and laying his big lug head in her lap. We adopted him that Saturday and he came home on August 1st 2007 after being neutered.
We named him Buddy(you can see why) after bringing him to his new home. We take Buddy and Spazz walking almost every night or to the dog park to socialize and play.
