Licensing

The City of Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Services Department's new "Love 'Em and License 'Em" Campaign provides Rancho Cucamonga citizens with a late-free season for their unlicensed dogs. Starting on September 1st, residents will have an opportunity to obtain their dog's first license or renew out-of-date dog license without any accumulated late fees or penalties. However, this "get out of jail free" pass only lasts until January 1, 2008. After that date, owners of any dog over four months of age that is found without a valid license will face late fees of $18.

All dogs over four (4) months of age must have and wear a current license tag. Your dog’s license is proof of its current rabies vaccination, as well as providing a means of identification to ensure your dog gets safely home if lost.

To purchase a license, you must provide proof of your dog’s current rabies vaccination. If your pet has been spayed or neutered (and we hope it has), you are eligible for a reduced rate by providing proof of alteration. Pet owners over the age of 65 or those with a permanent disability may qualify for a reduced rate by providing proof of age or disability (SSI card, permanent disabled person’s placard).

Licenses can be purchased for one, two or three years. The various licenses and related fees are shown on the downloadable License Form that can be found below.
