Foster Care

Become Part of our Foster Care Program

The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center often receives animals that are too young, or not socialized enough to be adopted out.  Foster care volunteers take these animals into their home, providing a safe environment for them to mature and become more socialized. Some need to be fostered for only a few days, while others may need extended care.  Until kittens are old enough to be weaned and separated from the mother, they cannot be put up for adoption. Fostering is easy, one just needs to provide TLC – Tender Loving Care…time and love. This can be extremely rewarding and fulfilling as well as a fun and educational activity for the entire family. Foster care is invaluable to these animals and the Center is urgently seeking interested qualified volunteers to participate in this life-saving program. Each foster home means another life or lives saved.

How to Become a Foster Care Volunteer

Interested foster care volunteers must first submit a completed Foster Care Application. The Center provides food, pet supplies, medication, veterinarian care, and ongoing support and advice. Foster care givers must be able to provide a clean, safe environment in which to care for the animal(s).

The next scheduled Foster Care classes are: 10:30 AM on April 24th, May 1st and 15th, which will be held here at the Animal Center. Contact our Foster Care Coordinator at (909) 466-7387.
